S t r e t c h . . .

Last year was a much better year. I had trained for a 10K in the Sunburst. I was running faster and farther than I am now. Ugh! 

My long runs would be a consistent 11 min mile at least for the first four and then would eventually get longer. Let's just say an 11 min mile was my slow pace. 

This morning I woke up 15 minutes late because I hit snooze one too many times. So I decided to make it a short fast run but took the time to stretch. I found out two things. One, I need to stretch more often because I could not believe how tight I was. The second thing I found out is that it made a world of difference in my "fast short run" and recovery was a snap.

So if you find yourself running and not getting anywhere, take up Pilates or something that stretches your muscles.

I wasn't real happy with the variation in speed, but I'll work on it.
