Thank You Dad!

As I was running today I was thinking of all the preparation that goes into running a race. The time. The sacrifice. The dedication. Learning from mistakes. The discipline. All for what? While there are plenty of good reasons to run, in the grand scheme of thing bodily exercise profiteth little. It's in the Bible, look it up.

On the other hand, there is this marathon called life. Our goal is life eternal with the Heavenly Father. Our earthly father is our coach. With kids of my own I now recognize the dedication, time, and sacrifice my dad made to make sure the one thing most important in life he trained his kids for.

I also recognize that I am fortunate to have a father-in-law that shares the same values as my dad. Both father's have been the very best of Grand Dad's too. Not only with what they teach as important to our kids but in their council of our life.

So on this Father's Day I want to say thank you to all the Father's before that have made the race of life their most important goal of what they want to teach their children. It is now my hope that I can pass on this Biblical heritage to my kids and my kids kids if I am ever so blessed.

Today's run:
