Like a turtle running through peanut butter!

Ever wonder what it feels like to run when it's humid out?

Exactly, like a turtle running through peanut butter!

Sometimes when I am out running I get upset with myself because I know I can do better. The trick is to just refind your groove and keep moving. No two runs are ever the same because there are lots of factors.

While getting chased by someone's over zealous dog can give you that extra shot of adrenaline to do your best mile ever, having to dodge a vehicle or run on uneven ground can really slow you down.

Then there are mornings like today. I dropped off our van at the local repair shop. It was a little early to be running. It was a good half hour before sunrise with heavy cloud cover. It's this reason I decided to run a good 10' off the road through the grass. Problem is I was so occupied with where my foot was going to land I found myself holding my breath.

I was mad and found myself in my thoughts thinking don't forget rule #1, breathe - stupid!

By the time I finished the first mile I was panting too hard and had to slow to recover. It took till the later half of the third mile to find my groove. It was that last half mile or so that made this mornings run worth it. I was running a good pace at a good time and I never felt better.

So don't give up! Keep on moving and keep running till you cross your finish line.

This mornings run:
