It's not the heat it's the humidity!

Yup, Sunday afternoon is a great time to run.

I like to do my long runs on Sunday afternoons  because I have a lot less time constraints. Unfortunately, this usually means I end up running in the heat of the day. Kind of like today. It wasn't really that hot out, but combined with the humidity I decided to cut my run a mile short.

This begs the question, how should I dress for a run? Well, when I run in the morning, I look at the temperature and add 30 degrees. Not sure where I heard that from, but it has worked out well.

That being said, don't wear so much that you overheat and have to slow down. I made that mistake when I wore pants to my first 5K in June long ago. After a few times out you will figure out if you are wearing too much... And as it gets cooler out this fall you'll figure out when your wearing too little. Until you figure out your own preference, you can use the 30 degree rule of thumb.
