Well, today her dream finally came true! Today was Diana's first birthday party! Boy, was she excited! She was pretty much "gone wild" all day - singing "happy birthday to Diana" to herself, bouncing up and down, squeeling... It was hilarious! Her dream had finally come true, and I was so happy for her. Her thorough enjoyment made all the work of the past couple weeks so worth it.

Each person who came was greeted by an excited, "Happy Birthday!" We were so thrilled to have so many of our family here.

Diana loved every minute - well, except one. We played "Pin the Crown on the Princess", and since she was the birthday girl, she got to go first. Not the best idea. She had never even seen the game before, so she was a little flustered by the not being able to see thing. All of a sudden she said in this little distressed/frustrated voice, "but I can't see!" Poor dear (me laughing under breath)! After seeing others play it with the bandana over their face, she was okay with doing it again.
As you have probably figured out, it was a "Princess" party. I made her a special party outfit, which she loved (thank goodness!). Her cake was a princess doll. She loved it too, and was a little upset when Daddy yanked the Barbie out - I think she thought the whole thing was a doll! I quickly explained that there was cake under there, and she would get Barbie to play with.
All in all, I think "a good time was had by all". After everyone was gone, naps were had by some!
Wow! What a great Princess Party! Happy Birthday, Diana!! Wished we could have been there.
