Sweet Little Slippers
Diana's tiny, curved feet make it hard to find anything to put on them. And I, being unwilling to miss out on any amount of cute little girl fun, searched and searched. I was able to find a pair of slippers, and some cute furry boots. But they just didn't work for church all that well. So, what's left for a crafter to do?
The amazing this is how easy it was to make these - I made a pattern with fleece, and sewed a tester, and it actually worked! So then I made these little velvet things with the ruffle ribbon.
DeAnn, her shoes look so sweet! Sure wish I was as crafty as you!
ReplyDeleteNow that is using your God-given talent! Those are darling! I was thinking of getting her some ballet slippers - would that work?! (Not the kind with all the strap to lace up the leg!)
ReplyDeleteYes, Carol, it probably would. I have a pair that go on, they're just too big. Her feet are a 3-4, basically the size of an 18-24 month old! The shoe has to have fabric-like softness to mold to the curves. The other issue is if it has a strap over the top - some of them just don't have enough length to get over the top of her foot. If you look around at all, you'll see why I ended up making them!! =)
ReplyDeleteI already "feel the pain"! I was sure they would be easier to find!
ReplyDelete:( Most have the hard bottom like a tennis shoe and I knew that wouldn't work. I'll keep trying but maybe she will get a card along with the rest this year. I will keep her birthday time for special things. Hope to see you soon!
