Girl on a mission...

Well, we have one determined little girl. Diana wanted to be outside last night before dinner, so we set her outside on the grass near the end of the porch. Next thing we knew she was in the sandbox with the boys playing. That means she travel about 30 or so feet all by her lonesome.... so we tested it out. When we called the boys in to set the table and get cleaned up, we also told Diana to come in... well she started her trek to the deck and made it all the way, even up the steps! She got lots of exercise. I have been learning that Diana can do a lot by herself and even though it may be faster and more convenient for me to help her out... I know it is better for her to do it by herself for herself...

  1. Good call. =o) I'm proud of you for using tough love and letting her do things on her own. =o) I'm sure you want to help her.

  2. She is like most little girls her age. They want to "DO IT MYSELF" as Laisa has said probably since she could talk. Lily is already starting. She refuses to eat unless she can "do it herself". She's such a little stinker!

  3. I'm so proud of you guys! :) Having her last weekend showed me how hard it is to just let her do things independently when it looks so challenging. (Sometimes I wanted to help her just to hurry the task - test of my patience :)I'm so glad that she's doing well!

  4. The urge to help a child because it's "faster" is great! Good for you to let her do it herself. I personally am BAD about letting my kiddo's do things on their own and usually step in instead of letting them do it alone. Diana is blessed to have such wonderful, loving parents:)

  5. Otto & DeAnn: I noticed the day that I baby sat her that she really moves around fast. Never realized that she could go up the steps. You are right - you have a very determined little girl. I just loved on her so much when she was here and the flash card session was extremely interesting. Luv ya all. Arlene
