Let's Not Get Lax

Just an encouragement to keep praying and supporting the people of Haiti! Here's a message from Doris that arrived today:

Dear Friends,
I want to thank you for your prayers on behalf of our SEED-Team's visit to Leogane. They came home exhausted but so full of encouragement about their visit. This time they spread out a little bit in the area where people didn't get much yet.

Their first stop was shortly before you get to Leogane to visit Pastor Jean Claude's family (he is from the first Baptist Church). They left some food with them and then went on to "our" orphanage and mission, Emmanuel Mission. Everyone was glad to see the team with our two pick-ups loaded with beans, rice, oil, clothes, and tarps. We are thankful that the 4 churches Frantz had challenged in helping their country men giving rice and many clothes. We also were able to get some food and tarps from the missionaries relief depot.

After unloading the things at the orphanage Pastor Joel told Frantz to go and visit with him the Voudou society and bring some food to them. So, off they went. The people were very excited because they hadn't gotten anything yet. Please, pray especially for these people that through this there hearts will be touched and they will start searching our true living God.

A pastor from a church in Jacmel came and got some things, too. Another one from Mariana, close to Port, had told us prior to the trip: "I'm embarrassed to say, that I'm just hungry!" We could leave food and clothes with him also and hopefully will get to see him this Saturday again.

We are thankful that we can help a little bit. Looking at the whole country sometimes we would like to be discouraged but we are thankful that we can make a difference with some people.

Thanks again for your prayers, your e-mails, and your support.

In His name,
Doris
I have some other pictures I should put up, so keep checking!

  1. Hi DeAnn: I pray everyday for the Hatian people because there is no end in sight. When I see all these very young boys or girls taking care of babies it makes me just so sad. I sometimes wonder will there ever be a Hati the way it once was. Who are we to know these Baptist people that are now in jail meant well. We just never know. Luv ya all much. Arlene
