Dear friends,
Just as we we were getting used to what had happened last week, the ground shook again and sent everyone back in turmoil again. We are safe and praise the Lord for that but in the capital and some other cities it damaged more houses again. Thank you for your prayers because they keep us going! Today I'm tired because our house has some fissures too and I didn't sleep too much. But it is so good that we know that God is with us in this difficult time.
Yesterday we distributed some cornmeal and veggies from SEED for the city hospital. We found 2 committees cooking food for the sick and their relatives. Since we know some of them we felt confident that it will be used as designated. When Frantz went to the soccer field for distribution he saw that many people had moved on to their families in the country and some of the other people he knew were in control were not there anymore. So, he didn't leave anything there.
We are still planning to get some clothes, food, and money to the orphanage in Leogane. The pastor is a former student and his brother has a mission here in town. He is willing to send everything there. Gas has been scarce and if the stations are open you may spend hours in line. Our students are collecting clothes and money and as soon as we can, we will send cornmeal and veggies, plus water too. Thanks again for upholding us. It is hard for everyone, more the afflicted people but it wears on us too. Please also pray for the safety of our staff and our family. We believe God wants us here now and want to trust in Him.
God bless you all,
Doris
