ABC's

Diana has come a long way in the past 7 months. Her language is getting better every day. The last week or so we have been trying to teach her to recognize letters.

All I have to say is... I never knew it could be so difficult for someone. After all she can kind of sing the ABC song so we thought she would catch on rather quick. Unfortunately we were wrong. We have resorted to trying to get her to recognize the letters in her name and we started with the letters A and D. We would show her D and she would say D and the we would show her an A. After she would start repeating A we would go back to D only to see a blank stare on her face. Frustrating for us because it was only a half minute since she last seen this letter.

Well after a few days of saying the letters of her name I think it is starting to finally sink in to her thick skull. Today when we left church I asked her, Diana starts with a???? and she finally said D. Then on the way to staples to pick up some toner for our printer so I can do my homework this weekend... she saw a sign, "CAR WASH" and she blurted out that she saw an A on the sign. Yeah! Only 25 more letters to go. =-)

  1. I talked to her a little bit in church today and I was pretty impressed with her language. She has really come a long way! :)
